Curricular Internships
Internships are an integral part of the SciComm Master’s program. They take place during the second semester (typically February–May), require a minimum of 250 hours, and are mandatory for all students.
These placements allow students to apply what they have learned in real-world contexts, within public or private institutions in Italy or abroad. Each internship is structured around a science communication project, jointly defined by the student, the Host Organization, and the Master’s coordinator. It is an opportunity to gain practical experience, explore a professional environment, and consolidate a specific area of interest.
Students are strongly encouraged to carefully read the FAQ section before planning their internship. The FAQ provides detailed information on available formats (in person, online, or hybrid), international placements, recognition of professional work, language requirements, and visa considerations.
A list of affiliated organizations is available below. Students may also propose new host institutions, subject to availability and formal agreement subject to evaluation and formal agreement by the University.
